Parash Acharya


Parash is a PhD student at the EPECentre, with the GREEN Grid project. Parash’s research looks at voltage stability issues with increased renewable energy in the New Zealand grid. He completed his Bachelor of Engineering degree from Kathmandu University, Nepal in 2005 and a Master of Engineering degree from the University of Canterbury in 2013. Between 2006 and 2011, he worked as a Research Engineer at a research based company named KAPEG in Nepal, in the development of small-scale wind turbines with wooden blades. After completing his Masters, Parash worked as a Lecturer at Kathmandu University for two and a half years where he was involved in lecturing courses like Electric Machines, Drives, Power Electronics and Renewable Energy.
