Thomas Smart

Thomas is a PhD student at the EPECentre, working on the Log Joule Heating Project. His research focus is on measuring the electromagnetic fields surrounding the logs during the heating process and using this information to produce real-time images of the power dissipation throughout. This information is important for maximizing the efficiency and safety of the Joule heating process. Thomas completed his Bachelor of Engineering, Electrical and Electronic, with First Class Honours at the University of Canterbury in 2014.
